It’s an interesting time! This past Monday U.H. Manoa students and faculty held a Panel Discussion that included myself, Mililani Trask, Brandon Makaawaawa, and Esther Kiaaina, on the 30th Anniversary of the UCC & U.S. Apology. This Saturday tommorrow the General Minister and President Karen Georgia Thompson of the National United Churches of Christ will be holding a meeting from 2-4 at Central Union Church, and at 1pm a special meeting with the President and Hawaiian Church leaders. Tommorrow morning I’ll participate with the United Methodist Acts of Repentance Committee at Harris United Methodist, regarding the upcoming UMC General Convention in which an Apology to Native Hawaiians will be voted upon. This upcoming January 19th we’ll have our Annual Hookuikahi Reconciliation Interfaith Service at the Honpa Hongwanji Temple and the Cal Pac Bishop will be attending and speaking. The January 17th Onipas Peace March planning is underway as well, mahalo and prayers for Healani and Queens Court.
Prayers for Hawaii Reconciliation and the Reconciliation Committee of the Episcopal Diocese of Hawaii, the UMC AOR Acts of Repentance committee, and the AHEC Apology Committee, and many other initiatives related in the churches and community.
