When Jesus says we will be like angels, He is not removing our humanity — He is lifting it up. He is saying that in God’s kingdom, love will no longer be limited by time, or culture, or even death itself.
In baptism, that eternal life begins now.
So, to this family — to the parents, ninongs and ninangs, grandparents, and loved ones — remember: the love you show this child is a glimpse of heaven.
The tenderness you offer today reflects the same love that God pours out through the holy water of baptism
May this child today about to be baptised grow to know that he is loved by his family on earth, and by her heavenly family forever — from generation to generation, from earth to heaven, from now into eternity.
Amen.

Renewing of Baptism Vows
Jesus replies, “You are mistaken, not understanding the Scriptures or the power of God. For in the resurrection, people neither marry nor are given in marriage; they are like the angels in heaven.”
In this moment, Jesus is teaching that the life to come is not just a continuation of this life—it is a transformation. Love does not end, but it changes. In heaven, our relationships are perfected, freed from human limitations, and filled entirely with God’s presence. The question is not “Whose spouse?” but “Whose child?”—and the answer is: God’s.
